A Shout Out to Teachers

In the Houston area where I live, there doesn’t seem to be much to celebrate in the world of public education: a major budget crisis, staffing cuts, and record unemployment.  However, I would like to acknowledge the teachers who are on the front lines this year, regardless of where they work.  Teaching is the hardest job I have ever done in any way you care to name: physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.

With that in mind, I would like to share the story of one truly special teacher.  Thanks to Eric Fridge for sharing the story of Michael Biasini, a special-ed teacher in Fort Bend ISD, Texas, who is also well-known for his volunteer work.  In this video, he tells his own story.  I know you’ll be inspired, and I hope all my teacher friends will take this post as a THANK YOU for all the things you are doing for our kids.
